Joan is a graduate of Christopher Newport University with a BS in Business Administration. She has earned her certification in CRB (Certified Broker Management, CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), and CRI (Graduate Realtors Institute). Joan is a member of the Chesapeake Bay & Rivers Association of Realtors; Virginia Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. She has been recognized in Who’s Who in America and is a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club. Joan has been awarded the Code of Ethics Award from Chesapeake Bay & Rivers Association of Realtors and has been a Realtor since 1981.
In her spare time, Joan has been active in the American Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor for over 20 years; Active as a CERT member (Community Emergency Response Team); Garden Club of Virginia, Local and State Artistic Judge since 1999; awarded the “Unsung Hero Award” by the Virginia Branch of the International Order of the King’s Daughters and Sons for over 20 years and as photographer for all events of the Ware River Circle of King’s Daughters and Sons; member of TOGA (Tidewater Oyster Growers Association), a Master Oyster Gardner. She also enjoys gardening, flower arranging, kayaking, golf, tennis, swimming and oyster farming.
